Team Orion Ranger LiPo batteries

In the heart of an electric RC-car there's always a battery that defines the speed, running time and performance of the car. That's why picking the battery plays a really important part in your RC-hobby. RC-cars generally use either NiMH- or LiPo-batteries. NiMH-batteries are easy to use while the LiPo-batteries give more performance.

A bad LiPo-battery doesn't give you a lot of power and especially won't help with the running time. A bad battery won't be able to keep its voltage under heavy load, and it will drop below the Low Voltage Cutoff prematurely.

Team Orion Ranger Power - With a proper battery the wheelies won't stop because of a lack of power!

When we got involved in planning the Team Orion's Ranger-series of batteries the premise was that the batteries have to be good enough to deliver power to powerful cars without letting the voltage drop. We were happy to notice that the Ranger-series batteries met these needs easily and they are noticably more powerful than the similar LiPo-batteries we've sold before. Even though the capacity may be the same as another battery's capacity on paper, the running time is usually higher with the Ranger batteries because they can maintain the voltage higher throughout the run. We also compared the Ranger batteries to way more expensive batteries with higher C-ratings, and the Ranger batteries were at least as good and often times even better than the batteries that should've, in theory, been better.

The advantage of the Ranger-series batteries is that they come to us straight from the factory which means that we've been able to sell them for rather cheap and the batteries we sell are fresh and haven't had to lay around in storages for longer periods of time. We also receive the batteries with a wide variety of different connectors, so we have almost any type of LiPos you would need readily available on the shelves. Whether it is a Tamiya-, EC3-, EC5-, Deans (T-plug)-, XT60-, or an XT90-conncetor that you need,  it shouldn't be a problem. If we don't have the one you need available right away we can also change the connector of a different battery for you.

The Ranger batteries are usually available as the standard 5000mAh versions and nowadays also as the crazy 8000mAh (or sometimes 7800mAh) versions. Both of the batteries are similar in size but the 8000mAh batteries offer a longer running time. All of the Ranger-series batteries are "standard" sized which means that they'll fit most applications without a problem. The only exception to this are the 3S-batteries which have two different thicknesses available. The 4300mAh batteries are lower, around the same height as the 2S batteries (about 26mms) while the 5000mAh and 8000mAh are a little taller at about 37mms. Luckily most 3S cars are designed to be able to fit these taller batteries as well. (tip: If you want to fit a taller battery you can usually change the mounting style from what it is to velcro straps that allow you to use taller batteries:  ARRMA RC AR390101 Velcro Battery Strap (2))

A tip for the ARRMA 6S drivers: 2 3S ranger batteries fit into the battery compartment on top of each other so you can make a 6S 8000mAh setup. With that you'll get plenty of running time.

We got our latest batch of Team Orion's products last month and it had four pallets of batteries, so we have quite a few batteries on our shelves.
