A hobby of their own is an important thing for a kid. The kid gets to do something they're excited about while they're learning new things and enhancing their skills. Hobbies are an important part of growing up. It can also be a great way to get out there instead of sitting in front of screens or malls all day.

The RC-hobby is a great option for a hobby regardless of your age and in Finland alone there are thousands of hobbyists who would agree. The RC-hobby is a growing and developing hobby that can be practised at any level that you wish to practise it at. All the way from driving around your yard on a sunday evening to being a professional RC racing driver travelling around the world for events.

The RC-hobby offers a great balance between engineering, being outside and bring social. Pretty much the pefect balance for for example someone who enjoys video games but would rather do similar stuff in the real world. It's also a very great option for somone who enjoys motorsports but maybe doesn't want to risk their life and spend their life savings on a racecar that you're supposed to sit inside of. Especially if sitting around at home alone in the form of sim racing doesn't really spark your interest.

If you've been considering a new hobby we have reason to believe that aside from being a nice hobby RC-hobby also has lots of qualities that are actually good for developement, such as:

-Learning responsibility. Getting an RC-car is a long-term investment that will last years if you just maintain it properly. If something breaks the car can be rebuilt with a few spare parts, or perhaps some option parts. The RC-hobby is great for teaching your kid about the importance of responsibility.

-Enhancing the ability to focus. Driving an RC-car requires being able to focus on a specific thing, or rather to focus on a few things that are all related to the same thing. A kid having issues with being able to concentrate on things could really benefit from this hobby if they're excited enough about it.

-Learning mechanics. How do the mechanics of a vehicle work, and how does it all come to be? What does it affect when you change the position of a shock absorber? All of these are questions you can find answers for just working on an RC-car.

-Practising dexterity and motor skills. With an RC-car you're constantly enhancing your dexterity and your hands' movements are becoming increasingly more accurate. A great way for a kid to enhance theur hands' motor skills. They're developing while driving and while working on the car.

We think RC-cars are a great hobby which is why we've put a lot of effort into making getting started as easy as possible for you and making sure that the first wreck wont be the last time you drive. This hobby is more than just a job for us. Each of us is an RC-hobbyist ourselves and we're determined to develop this awesome hobby.

How does one get into the hobby?

If you live in the central area of Finland or near it, aside from our store you can also find the Fullspeed RC Racing Club. Together we and Fullspeed RC provide you with everything you need to get into the hobby:

-A chance to try out the hobby using rental cars

-An RC-club for children (doesn't require your own car)

-Weekly races for active drivers with their own cars

-Fullspeed Off-road Racing Series about once a month

-Fullspeed RC's tracks next to our store are open 7 days a week

-An opportunity to have us host an event for you (birthday parties etc.)

The store we have in Vaasa will help you learn more about what RC is as well as give you an opportunity to try it out. VUA, the local club in Vaasa hosts weekly races and opportunities to try RC-racing out.

The rest of Finland

If you're not in a position where you can come to either of our stores or the tracks we mentioned, don't worry. Finland is full of RC clubs and places people drive at. If you don't know where to go you're more than welcome to ask us for help, we'll let you know where the closest club to you is located.

Another great thing about the RC-hobby is that you don't necessarily need a track if that's not within reach or not really your thing. With RC-crawlers any trail or cliff will do, and a racing track can also be built in your backyard or a relatively flat spot in the middle of the woods, for example.

Even if there isn't a club near you or you don't want to join one, the RC-hobby is versatile enough to still give you plenty of fun action. With a few tips and tricks you'll be ready to get into the hobby alone or with your friends. We offer the products and support to keep it interesting for years to come.

So why is it that we think the RC-hobby is so great?

Below you'll find a few points that we think makes RC as great of a hobby as it is.

-Away from the everyday life. With an RC-car you can go out to the woods, the local race track or a sandpit. A great way to get out of your home and hang out with some friends!

-Getting your adrenaline up. Driving an RC-car is exciting and the crazy performance the cars come with doesn't fail to surprise. It can really get on your nerves too. An MMA-fighter who found RC-racing during their sick leave once said they haven't bee as nervous about their competetive performance before than they were during a weekly race.

-Spending time with your friends. You get to spend time together with your friends with a common interest! If you don't happen to have any fiends with RC-cars we recommend you get into contact with a local RC club or an RC group you'll find on social media. That way you'll soon have friends with RC cars for sure.

-Perheen kanssa harrastamista. RC-autoilu yhdistää kaikenikäisiä ja tämä on todella hyvä "isä-poika" harrastus. RC-autolla voi ajaa samanaikaisesti ja tasaväkisesti sekä perheen isä, äiti, poika ja tyttö ja tämä on loistava tapa yhdistää perhe yhteiseen ajanviettoon. -Fulfill yourself. RC-cars are customizable, you can build them to look however you want them to look and they'll surely spark up interest on a shelf or out and about. Do you have a dream car in mind or in your garage? Build an RC replica of it!
